Firearms Training: We offer one-on-one or small group informal teaching and coaching in a quiet setting to emphasize the importance of confidence when shooting. This training is tailored for new, inexperienced shooters who may feel intimidated walking into a range, as well as for experienced shooters who want to hone their skills with the latest training techniques.
De-Escalation Training: STC POST Certified, our 4-hour de-escalation training focuses on identifying solutions and using proven techniques to enhance the chances of de-escalating a situation.
Axon Taser Training: Receive Axon Taser training on the X26, X2, T7, & T10 Platforms. Trainings scheduled & facilitated thru Axon Inc.

Meet your Instructor: Tim Snyder
For over twenty-four years, I proudly served as a Probation Officer in El Dorado County. During my career, I developed a strong passion for teaching, particularly critical areas such handgun training, use of force, de-escalation, and officer safety. At True North Defense, we are dedicated to providing personalized, one-on-one training, with a focus on fostering confidence & competence in handgun skills. As a POST and DOJ certified firearms instructor since 2018, a field training officer since 2017, a Taser Master Instructor, my aim is to empower every student by prioritizing safety and effective training.
